West Michigan Destination Weddings :: Martha’s Vineyard
by Tiffany Ellis, gown consultant & assistant planner
Note from Tami :: I’ve asked Tiffany to research some wonderful “destination wedding” venues right in our own backyard. The criteria was a venue where both a lovely ceremony and fun reception could be held, and guest rooms were available. We also want a place where your guests could find things to do throughout the wedding weekend. On a personal note, my son has provided music for weddings at this venue, so I can vouch for it’s beauty and charm.
Now that you have the ring and you’ve ripped out dozens of pages from bridal magazines, it’s time to start planning your big day. You’ve got hundreds of ideas floating around in your head and a purse full of business cards from local caterers, reception halls and florists. As you begin to navigate your way through the maze of choosing the perfect vendors, your fiancé’s hopeful suggestion of a destination wedding in Hawaii begins to sound appealing. You picture yourself on a tropical, remote island, surrounded by your closest friends, exotic food and an army of hotel staff ready to make it all happen. A few clicks of the computer mouse brings you back to reality. There’s no way a destination wedding could fit into your budget.
Unless you choose a destination in your own backyard. You don’t have to fly to Hawaii to find a hotel that is eager to take on the biggest details of your day. Here in West Michigan there are dozens of Inns, Bed and Breakfasts and Manors that would love to take the stress out of your planning by providing accomodations, ceremony and reception site, catering and more all in one location.
Today’s Backyard Destination is Martha’s Vineyard Bed and Breakfast. Located in South Haven, Michigan, this charming 150 year old Bed and Breakfast is small enough to host that intimate wedding you had hoped for yet capable enough to handle everything from linens to floral arrangements. Perfect for a party of thirty, you would be able to treat your guests to accommodations in the cozy rooms of both the Main house or the Vineyard’s Guest house. Just minutes from South Haven’s board walk, guests will have a limitless number of restaurants, shops and activities to choose from during your wedding weekend.
On your special day the Vineyard’s gardens will host your nuptials among gorgeous views. After the ceremony you and your guests will dine on the lovely vine covered veranda with dinner options like Spinach Salad with strawberry & walnut dressing, Chicken Cordon Bleu and Asparagus & Cheese Soup. And, as each event is unique, Martha’s Vineyard is open for customizing to meet your requests.
At EVENTS by September’s Bride we love to keep things local and we are experts on West Michigan destination weddings. If that seems perfect for you, we are here to make it happen.
